The Dutchman was the Technical Director for his home country’s Youth National Teams. He’ll finish his current employment at FC Utrecht in the near future

The Israel Football Association Management has approved today (Thursday) the appointment of the Dutchman Jelle Goes as the Youth National Team’s Technical Director and will be responsible for football development for the upcoming three years.

The Professional Committee who recommended the appointment to the Israel Football Association Management were: Israel Football Association Chairman Oren Hason, Chairman of the Professional Committee Moshe Zuares, Eli Ohana and Eli Cohen. The committee was accompanied throughout the process by Yael Afek, VP Operations and Resources of "Nisha Group", who held more than ten meetings over the last few weeks, in which a professional and personal profile was constructed for the suitable individual to be appointed for the position. In those meetings, goals were set and names of candidates were discussed, which eventually led to interviews with six of them.

Jelle Goes enjoys an impressive professional record as a Technical Director and brings a wealth of experience from his time working with national and club teams. He was the Technical Director of the Holland Youth National Team system and was responsible for developing talent between 2013-2017. Goes managed the Estonia National Team and served as the Technical Director of the PSV Eindhoven Academy, CSKA Moscow and FC Anzhi Makhachkala. The committee also decided that after the approval of Goes's appointment by the Israel Football Association Management, an Israeli staff member will work alongside him and will be nurtured as a future Technical Director. In the near future, Goes will finish his employment at the Netherlands outfit FC Utrecht which he joined in 2018.

IFA Chairman Oren Hason: "Professional work by the members of the committee, IFA CEO Rotem Kamer and Yael Afek from "Nisha Group”, were able to guarantee a professional process of the highest standards, which I am proud to be a part of. I want to offer a big thank you to all of them for their investment, effort and the willingness to work intensively on a strict schedule. We met with many candidates with impressive abilities and a great willingness to promote our football and at the end of the process we decided unanimously that Jelle Goes was the right person. His record speaks for itself and during the interviews and discussions with him, we found a professional who combines promising qualities in terms of knowledge, advancing youth, developing academies and centers for excellence along with a desire to work hard. The IFA will make optimal conditions available to him in order to ensure that our football will be in a better place in a number of years, both in terms of the individual development of players and coaches as well as regarding the level of the youth teams.”

Jelle Goes: "I am very excited to join the Israel Football Association, to be part of its football and help develop it. This is a big challenge, which I very much want to take upon myself. By combining forces with all of the associated parties, I believe that this will lead to success with the various youth age groups, at the individual level, at the club level, at the National Team and Academy level and certainly with everything related to developing young talent. The cooperation between the clubs and the Association is critical to me for nurturing talent and success. I am familiar with the 'Israeli Way' which the IFA Management has adopted and it is indeed a promising plan and one that is also achievable. I will put all of my efforts, knowledge and abilities to nurture the younger generation in order for Israeli football to move forward and prosper.”
