Manor Solomon, the Israeli national team and Shakhtar Donetsk player, visited the Mevoot Yam academy last Wednesday. During his visit, Solomon spoke in the auditorium with the young players, along with Guy Azouri, the General Manager of the football academy. The meeting was attended by players from all the academy - 2006, 2007, and 2008 - and then Solomon participated in practical training with the 2008 players.
Manor Solomon: "It's fun to be here, amazing place with wonderful kids. I was very happy to talk to them and enjoyed hearing their questions. Their conditions here at the academy are wonderful and there is a significant gap between their conditions and the conditions I had when I was their age. They are here in boarding school, training Before and after school hours so they have a lot more training units. There are more coaches on smaller groups of children and that will contribute to them. They get quality pitches, great food, gym, halls, auditorium for lectures - all at a very high level. I hope to see "A few more years with us on the senior team. I was happy to hear the questions, I heard about their fears and anxieties. I told them my story and everything I've been through so far, and I hope they have learned a few things."
Guy Azouri, the general manager of the academy: "Manor, beyond being an extraordinary talent, brings with him remarkable personality and values. "And we all hope that the academy players will absorb what they experienced with him on the field and no less important than that off it."
Academy player, Daniel Sadeh: "It's a lot of fun, we got a lot of inspiration. Manor is a role model for a young athlete who has progressed here in the country. It's a dream to get to the places he is now. Great to see how he conducts himself on the field."
