Football Association Chairman Shino Zuaretz has submitted his candidacy for the UEFA Executive Committee elections, which will be held this April

Shino Zuaretz: "It is precisely during the most challenging period that there can be, that I have decided to run for a seat on the UEFA Executive Committee. I am convinced that Israeli football needs today, perhaps more than ever, a representative on the governing body of the European Football Association in order to bring international matches back to the country, foster the sport, partner with member associations and promote initiatives in European football. The successful struggle we waged at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok has sharpened the necessity of our presence in the bodies that govern world and European football.

It will not be easy, certainly when there are 5 contenders for two seats, including the presidents of the associations of Spain, Ukraine, Malta and Latvia, but I am imbued with a goal. I have no doubt that friends and colleagues from our football, here and abroad, will help me succeed. "Many in UEFA, including the most senior, appreciate the work of the association and have given me their blessing. I am filled with faith and am ready to invest whatever is required for the benefit of the issue."
