For the first time in Israel, an IFA Coach Educator course was held this week in Ramat Gan Stadium.

This is the first module of the course that lasted three days and was taught by Ruud Dokter on behalf of UEFA, when the course was combined with the UEFA C Module 2 course.

The participants in the course are the course coordinators of coaches and instructors from all the various institutions in Israel who are obligated by virtue of the coaches' convention to take this course in order to be allowed to conduct instructor courses in the future in cooperation with the Israel Football Association.

Among the familiar names who took part in the course were: Nir Levin, Victor Hadad, Nitzan Damari, Gili Landau, Chen Abdu, Shmulik Hanin, Itai Mordechai, Gadi Brumer, Alon Hazan, Lior Redler, Nissim Bachar, Haim Cohen and many more.

The course included theoretical learning and practical training and focused on passing and receiving a ball, parental involvement, kicks, Laws of the game and more. Coordinators have learned and been updated on new teaching approaches and modern child coaching. They also learned to evaluate and analyze practical training as part of an instructors course and how to create a fun and effective learning environment for training football instructors.

Ruud Dokter: "By 2023 every association will have to have coaching instructors in the courses. If we want to improve the level of football, there must be a lot of good coaching instructors, so the level of coaches will increase. We taught them methods on how to create a professional learning environment and exercises for young players. Principles in coaching and more. The integration in the course between the practical and theoretical side is important and necessary."

The technical director of the youth teams and responsible for the development of football in the Football Association, Jelle Goes: "The development of football in Israel starts with a high level of coaches. To raise the level of coaches you need high level coaching instructors. These are historic days, because for the first time we are holding a IFA Coach Educator course."
